Advisor to Chief Minister for Enquiries and Anti-Corruption Establishment, Gul Mohammed Lot on Tuesday directed the ACE officials to compile a record about quality of development works done in various jails in Sindh during the last 3 years.
Chairing a departmental meeting at his office, the Advisor said that he had received a lot of complaints that defective and sub-standard material had been used in development works including roads and various buildings, which have worn out much earlier than their expiry period and thus government exchequer was caused heavy financial loss in connivance with the contractors.
The Advisor said that in view of such public complaints, Anti-Corruption department has been directed to carryout complete scrutiny of jails-related projects and all legal formalities be completed for action against all those involved.
He directed that inquiries should also be carried out in such cases where projects were still incomplete even after three years despite full payment made to contractors. He said a list of government functionaries and contractors involved in such cases be also prepared so that those who have caused loss to government kitty are brought into net of law.
