'A revolutionary Haj policy is being formulated, which will accommodate all sections of the society and after studying its different aspects, the policy would be presented before the cabinet for approval.' The Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Syed Hameed Saeed Kazmi said.
Addressing the members of Surgical Instrument and Manufacturers Association of Pakistan (SIMAP) and citizens on Thursday, he disclosed that special attention would be given to reduction of Haj fares under the new policy. Kazmi further said that a special policy would also be designed to accommodate the poor segment of the society enabling them to perform Haj without any extra economic burden.
In addition to this, there will be special focus on those applicants who were dropped in draw, they would be accommodated and sent for Haj under regular quota scheme, he added. The Federal Minister assured the members that all out efforts would be made to operate Haj and Umrah flights from Sialkot International Airport from next Haj season to facilitate the people of the region.
'It is high time that Sialkot International management should concentrate on construction of Haj camp for the convenience of the people,' he said. Kazmi appreciated the role of business community in constructing Sialkot International Airport on self-help basis added that the mega project is a unique precedent for other business community in the country. The Chairman, SIMAP, Sarfraz Ahmad Chaudhry in his welcome address demanded reduction in Haj fares and operation of Haj flights from Sialkot International Airport.
