Spot basis bids for hard red winter wheat in the US Plains held steady Thursday, with merchants reporting quiet dealings. Merchants were following lower overnight pricing action in posting protection against expected further losses in HRW wheat futures prices.
Futures prices on the Kansas City Board of Trade were called to open 2 to 3 cents lower Friday amid weak export business and a stronger dollar. KCBT March ended Thursday down 18 cents at $6.08 a bushel.
