Federal Minister for Zakat and Ushr Noorul Haq Qadri has said that a centralised monitoring system will be evolved for equitable and transparent disbursement of Zakat among the needy and deserving people throughout the country very soon. In a statement issued on Saturday, the Federal Minister said that the system of Zakat has been initiated after the enforcement of Zakat Ordinance 1980.
Noorul Haq said that the Central Zakat Council grants funds to the four provinces on the basis of their population for disbursement of Zakat among the needy and deserving including hospitals, stipends to religious institutions, Eid grants, maintenance allowance and leprosy patients. The Federal Minister said that the provinces submit their reports to the Central Zakat Council, Ministry of Zakat and Ushr about the disbursement of Zakat funds being provided to them.--PR
