Utility Stores Corporation (USC) have once again enhanced across the board prices of almost all the items. The utility stores are now selling ghee at Rs 96 per kilo instead of the earlier price of Rs 88, while the prices of other items on sale have also been increased by 10 to 15 percent. Citizens here vehemently resented on these fresh price-hikes by the utility stores, which has further added to their miseries.
They said that the prices of items being sold at the utility stores and those in the open markets have no difference, while the government has been claiming giving relief to the people through subsidised sale at utility stores. Besides, the citizens have decried selling substandard goods at the utility stores. The people demanded that the benefits of decreased petrol price should also reach them. Meanwhile, utility stores management told that the quality of the items on sale was being improved.
