'Agriculture-scientists should introduce modern technology to farmers'

The Minister of State for Food and Agriculture, Rafique Ahmed Jamali said that agri-scientists should provide modern technologies to the farmers for mass production. He said that the Government has a clear vision to extricate the country out of difficult situation and it has realised the importance of the agri-sector and is taking right steps to development.
The State Minister said that a practical mid-effective strategy is needed on war footing to cope with the prevailing situation and make the country agriculturally self-sufficient. Jamali further has said that the Government is planned to introduce the 'Mega Project' for uplifting the middle class. 'Farmers are advised to follow the recommendations of agri- scientists to enhance their crop production per acre.
The Government has an agenda for next five years to provide basic facilities and necessities to every citizen of the country and meet the challenges faced by the PPP Government,' he said. Now, the PPP Government is committed to attaining self sufficiency in agricultural sector, with the line of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto's vision to alleviate poverty with a focus on achieving sustainable food security through increasing agricultural products, he maintained.
Jamali further said that the Government is striving hard to embark upon poverty issues through a comprehensive poverty reductive strategy and paid rich tributes to Bhutto's family for playing a historic role in restoring democracy in the country.-PR
