National Assembly Standing Committee on Science and Technology expressed concern over the delay in nomination of Vice Chairman of Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC). In-spite of the several meetings of the governing body, the matter of nomination of the Vice Chairman is still pending.
The meeting held in the Parliament House on Wednesday under the Chairmanship of Dr Abdul Kadir Khanzada, MNA for briefing on Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) and its related matters.
The Committee recommended that PEC should not only work as a registration and monitoring body but also work as a regulatory body. The committee also suggested that the governing body of Pakistan Engineering Council may work as a Think-Tank to assist the Federal Government on establishing standard for engineering products and facilitating Engineering Sector Industries. MNAs, Abdul Qadir Patel, Anusha Rehman Khan, Chaudhry Mahmood Bashir Virk, Akram Masih Gill, Aamir Yar Warn, Rana Abdul Sattar, Zafar Beg Bhitani and Shamshad Sattar Bachani, were present in the meeting.-PR
