The Karachi Port handled 78,074 tonnes of cargo including 50,658 tonnes of import and 27,416 tonnes of export, 2,168 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Saturday. The freights comprised of 53,245 tonnes of dry cargo including 22,218 tonnes of general cargo; 5,252 tonnes of scrap; 16,580 tonnes of coal; 9,195 tonnes of cement and 24,829 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Ten ships namely Hyundai Duke, Bunga Terasek, Ts Qingdao, Omer, Quetta, Banglar Mookh, Apl Balboa, Wan Hai-501, Kota Handal and Alios sailed out to sea during the reported period. Five vessels viz Kota Handal, Pheafen, Star Dream, Lucky-7 and Ibn Al-Abbar are currently at the berths. Three ships namely Star Dream, Lucky-7 and Blida expected to sail on Saturday while another four vessels viz Pheafen, Jakarta Express, Uni-Angel and H & H Tide are expected to sail on Sunday.
Eight vessel viz Sun Pine, Apl Jeddah, H & H Tide, King Brian, Uni-Angel, Hanjin Qingdao, Orient-II, Jiao Cheng and Burgas due to arrive on Saturday while two ships namely Taban 1 and Industrial Destiny are due to arrive on Sunday.
Five ships namely MT Beach Galaxy, MT Sigas Maud, CV Najran, CV Maersk Novazzano and CV Qatari Ibn Al-Fuja sailed out to sea during last 24 hours while another vessel viz MT Sun Pine is expected to sail on Saturday. A total of eight ships namely MSC Alpana, MSC Bulgaria, Urgent Bloom, Coral, Leopard-B, Berd Yansk, Holy Light and Waimea carrying containers, vegetable oil, cement, wheat and coal respectively are currently at the outer anchorage.
Eleven vessels viz CV Maersk Novazzano, CV Qatari Ibn Al-Fuja, CV Najran, MV Al-Barella, MV Nobil, MV Irene E.M, MT Beech Galaxy, MT Stolt Coldor, MT Vanguard Viking-I, MT Sun Pine and MV Star Can Opus are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, palm oil, vegetable oil, furnace oil, chemicals and iron ore respectively during the report period.
Two container ships namely CV MSC Bulgaria and CV Ibn Al-Abbhar are expected to take berths at Qasim International Container Terminal on Saturday. Three ships namely MV Orient-II, MT King Duncan and MV Hyundai Rhino scheduled to load/offload cement, diesel oil and project cargo are due to arrive on Saturday while another vessel viz MV Thor Sofia is due to arrive on Sunday.
