Supremacy of parliament top priority of government: Azeem

Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting Azeem Daultana on Monday said that supremacy of the parliament is the top priority of the government. In a statement issued here, he said that government will give rights to the people of four federating units to fulfil the long standing demand of provincial autonomy.
"Legislation will be done for protecting the rights of the people and other facilities of life to convert their miseries into happiness," he added. He said that under the Charter of Democracy, legislation will be done to set up an accountability institution, which has the support of the masses and where the powerful people could also be tried.
Daultana said that government is taking all possible steps for promotion of education as no nation or country can progress without education, particularly technical education. He said that reforms in education is one of the top priorities of the government.
Pakistan is playing a role of front-line state in the war against terror and have suffered a lot both physically and economically, he added. Parliamentary secretary said that government is making effective policy to counter terrorism and extremism, adding that our law enforcing agencies are fully capable and alert to counter the negative designs of extremists and terrorists.
