Kangana Ranaut was rushed to hospital in a critical condition after the ‘Queen’ actress injured herself in a sword fight scene.
Ranaut was shooting a scene for her movie ‘The Queen of Jhansi’ alongside co-star Nihar Pandya where she was supposed to dodge the sword swung at her by Nihar but was unable to do so, as the sword hit resulted in a deep cut between Kangana’s brows ensuing 15 stitches.
She was rushed to Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad; the actress is right now in ICCU and is kept under observation for a few days.
“Kangana was immediately rushed to Apollo hospital nearby, where she was admitted into the ICCU. She got 15 stitches on her forehead and will be under observation in the hospital for a few days. The examining doctor said that it was a close shave for her because the cut was too close to her bone,” said a unit hand said.
Movie producer Kamal Jain also addressed to the issue saying: “Kangana had to duck when Nihar attacked her, but the timing went wrong and Nihar’s sword hit her forehead instead. It made a deep cut between her eyebrows. The drive to the hospital took a good 30 minutes, but she put up a brave front despite the pain and bleeding. Nihar was apologetic and felt terrible, but Kangana pacified him,” quoted the Indian Express.
Kangana had chosen to do all her stunts and fight sequences by herself not relying on body doubles, the actress has said to flaunt her scar in the film. A source said: “Rani of Jhansi was a warrior, so Kangana has decided that she will wear her scar with pride just like the Queen of Jhansi did.”
