Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 101,695 tonnes of cargo including 67,020 tonnes of import and 34,675 tonnes of export, 2,340 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Saturday. The freights comprised of 35,695 tonnes of dry cargo including 27,080 tonnes of general cargo; 8,615 tonnes of bulk cargo and 66,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Three ships namely Sun Pine, Union Bonita and Thor Hawk sailed out to sea during the reported period. Eight vessels viz Union Bonita, Kota Lambai, Aqua Marine 1, Thor Hawk, Al-Kortoubi, MT Johar, Apl Balboa and Hammurabi are currently at the berths.
Two ships namely Adriatic Arrow and Semeru expected to ail on Saturday while another four vessels viz Arnis, MT Johar, Martha Russ and Al-Kortoubi are expected to sail on Sunday. Five vessels viz Gulf Tiger, MT Swat, Arnis, Martha Russ and Al Jaber XIV due to arrive on Saturday while four ships namely Chemroad Rose, Bavaria Express, Hanjin Port Adelaide and Caribbean Carrier are due to arrive on Sunday. Five ships namely Lion Princess, Pegasus 7, Apl Dalian, Mol Ability and Orinoco River are due to arrive on Monday.

The cargoes comprised of 5,106 tonnes of wheat; 19,939 tonnes of diesel oil; 5,000 tonnes of palm oil; 10,921 tonnes of cement and 22,116 tonnes of containerised cargo. Three ships, oil tanker MT King Duncan, containers ship CV Maersk Novazzano and edible oil vessel MT Royal Flos sailed out to sea during last 24 hours.
A total of seven ships namely MSC Finland, Golden Crest, Gemini, Dolphina, Makran, Thor Sofia and Hyundai Rhino carrying containers, palm oil, vegetable oil, rice and project cargo respectively are currently at the outer anchorage.
Seven vessels viz CV Maersk Novazzano, MV Coral, MV Leopard-B, MV Holy Light, MT Royal Flos, MT Al-Soor-II and MT King Duncan are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, palm oil and diesel oil respectively during the report period.
Three ships namely CV MSC Finland, CV Hammurabi and MT Dolphina are expected to take berths at Qasim International Container Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal on Saturday. Oil tanker MT Sea Lion is due to arrive on Sunday while another two vessels viz MT Sigas Maud and MT Sichem Melbourne are due to arrive on Monday.
