Chief Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar on Tuesday took suo motu notices on publications of media reports regarding the incidents of rape. The Chief Justice took suo motu notice in the public interest on press regarding the news of kidnapping and rape of a 14-year-old girl, a resident of Asghar Abad (Faisalabad).
It was further reported that when she was on her way to aunty, the accused named Mithoo, Riazul-ul-Haq, Biloo and one unidentified person kidnapped her and raped. Immediately after the incident the girl approached the police to lodge a report. The police, she reported, turn her out refusing to registering a case, the report added.
The Chief Justice has directed DIG Faisalabad to submit the report of the incident and its progress and action taken through DPO Faisalabad before the court on February 29. The CJ took notice of another incident of gang rape in Gujrat and directed the DPO to submit the report of the incident before the court.
According to a media report regarding gang rape of widow Mst Saira R/o Gujrat it was alleged that Khalid Mahmood along with his five friends namely Ghulam Abbas alia Jani, Muhammad Ali, Jamil alias Billa Butt, and two unidentified persons raped her and such FIR was lodged with Police Station Lari Ada but no one was brought to book and again she was kidnapped and raped by the same people.
