Barclays opens first branch in rural areas

Barclays has formally inaugurated its fifth branch in Pakistan, at Rawat, in the presence of guests and employees. The Branch started its operations back in September '08 and is the first rural branch of Barclays Pakistan in response to the ever growing needs of rural customers across the country.
Speaking on the occasion Mohsin Nathani, Managing Director and Country Head, Barclays Bank PLC Pakistan, reiterated Barclays commitment to Pakistan. He said, "Today is an important day for Barclays Pakistan as we have taken an important step in our countrywide branch expansion. Rawat represents a great market and viable growth potential for Barclays."
He further added that the expansion is in line with the State Bank of Pakistan's vision to expand the country's banking network into the rural areas and highlights Barclays commitment of extending banking services in urban centres as well as the rural markets.-PR
