A day care centre has been established at University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF) to facilitate the working women with respect to care their kids in a pleasant and hygienic environment. The centre was termed a revolutionary step to equip with modern innovative approaches and subsequent features of personality development as it is the first ever step in this direction by any public sector organisation.
The idea of Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan was materialised befittingly by arranging speech therapists, psychiatrists, child specialist doctors as the centre is a party of community services. A women complex, comprising Khatija, Qasim and Khalid Hall with state of the art indoor gymnasium and other sports facilities will be extended.
Initially, the centre is facilitating only university working women, but the facility will be extended for the general public very soon. An industrial home for low income and illiterate females is also a part of the centre to groom their vocational skills.
Twenty-five short-term courses are being offered by the centre. One of the important features of the centre is to care of the special children by the experts. The centre also provides training to mothers once in a month enabling them for proper grooming of their kids inline with the emerging needs of the time. The centre would be run as a trust to fulfil its financial requirements.
