A five-day training course on human rights activists organised by the National Commission for Justice and Peace (NCJP) was ended here on Tuesday. The purpose of the course was to enhance the importance of human rights and impart key skills among activists for promotion of the cause in the best possible manner.
Thirty human rights activists from different cities, including Faisalabad, Multan, Gojra, Shorkot, Vehari, Jhumra and Khushpur actively participated in the activity. At this juncture, participants of the training course focused on removing discriminatory articles and provisions in the constitution, laws and policies on the basis of creed, sex and race and emphasised to improve standards of rights.
They also demanded of improving ties with the neighbouring states, which could greatly help combat violence and terrorism in the region. Father Nisar Barkat (Director-NCJP), Peter Jacob (Executive Secretary-NCJP), Nabila Feroz, Father Raphael, Suneel Malik and Roquia Kousar were among the resource persons.
