Pakistan's troika has reiterated its determination to restore peace and tranquility in the country and resolve all outstanding issues through dialogue to make sure the restoration of the government's writ in every part of the country. President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani held meetings at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Thursday.
In their separate meetings, the three elders discussed matters pertaining to regional situation, including Swat peace accord and military operation in tribal areas. In the meeting, troika decided to continue military operation against the extremists and terrorists, who were posing a threat to security and integrity of the country, besides killing innocent people, sources told Business Recorder.

The troika also discussed the strategy for upcoming China visit of the President Zardari. Earlier, Prime Minister Gilani called on President Zardari, and briefed him about the latest situation in Swat after the government has signed a peace deal with Sufi Muhammad, leader of Nifaz-e-Shariat-e-Muhammadi (TNSM), who has marched towards Swat to hold talks with Taliban for persuading them to surrender.
