Sharat Sabharwal, a senior officer of Indian Foreign Service will be new envoy of India to Pakistan. Talking to mediapersons here on Friday, Minister of State for External Affairs Anand Sharma said Meera Shankar, India's Ambassador to Germany, will replace Ambassador Ronen Sen in Washington and Sabharwal, serving as Special Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, will replace High Commissioner Satyabrata Pal who is retiring on February 28.
Sabharwal had earlier served as India's Deputy High Commissioner to Pakistan.
