Areas of cooperation identified

President Asif Ali Zardari has identified possible areas of co-operation between Pakistan and China in hybrid seed, modern agriculture technology, water management, high efficiency irrigation and water pumping through solar technology. According to a statement, issued by the Pakistan Embassy in China, the President was addressing Pakistan-China Agriculture and Water Resources Forum at Wuhan, Hubei province.
The forum was attended by Chinese participants, including provincial leaders, representatives of Provincial Agriculture Departments, Hubei Seed Group Corporation and Huazhong University of Agriculture and selected Pakistani and Chinese experts. The President also held meeting with Hubei province Governor Li Hong Zhong, and exchanged ideas on Chinese experience in the fields of agriculture, water conservancy and hybrid seed development.
He congratulated the Governor on Hubei's phenomenal economic growth and achieving RMB one trillion gross domestic products (GDP) level in 2008. President Zardari is paying a visit to China, Hubei and Shanghai. This is his second visit to China in five months. The President earlier visited China from October 14 to 17, 2008 on his first bilateral state visit abroad.-PR
