No threat to Punjab government, says Hashmi

23 Feb, 2009

Senior vice president Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Makhdoom Javed Hashmi has said that there is no threat to Punjab Government and if it is tried to fall the provincial government then federal government would not be able to sustain. He said that I have made it clear on the US Senators that democratic government can build peace in the country.
He said this while talking with newsmen here on Sunday. Hashmi said that the assassination of innocent people would not be allowed within the country under the cover of terrorism. "The legal advisors have told that if a case against former president Pervez Musharraf can be filed then it will be filed and he might be arrested too", he added. To a question, Makhdoom Javed Hashmi said that a single person has kept all the authorities of the parliament in his hand. The supremacy of the parliament is the need of hour but opposite to this, all the decisions are being taken in the Aiwan-e-Sadar.
Javed Hashmi showed his determination to participate in the Long March and said that lawyer's long march has put life in the dead body of the politics. He said that Governor Punjab Salman Taseer and Qasim Zia should not exceed their limits. The courts of PCO judges want to declare Mian Brothers ineligible but I am saying here that this decision would bring no effect because the eyes of 170 million people are set on Mian brothers.
Responding a question about his trip to US, he said that strong, prosperous and peaceful Pakistan is necessary not only for the region but for the US also. "I have made it clear to US Senators and general public that the hatred against US would increase with the drone attacks on tribal areas and killing innocent people", he said.
