Jinnah Hospital introduces colour-coding system

Jinnah Hospital has introduced the Colour-Coding System to facilitate the patients in its Emergency section. Talking to media men on Sunday, the Allama Iqbal Medical College (AIMC), Principal, Dr Javed Akram said that JH is the first hospital in Pakistan equipped with this facility.
He said the system would help expedite the process of treatment to the emergency patients, as they would be provided with coloured cards- green for surgery, blue for medicines, yellow for orthopaedic and red for labour room.
The cards containing relevant doctor's name would guide the patients to approach the section concerned in a smooth manner, he maintained. In addition, he said, floor of the corridors leading to various wards, have also been decorated with multi-coloured lines for convenience of the patients.
Dr Akram said that a foolproof system had been put in place to monitor the performance of doctors, nurses and other paramedical staff at the emergency.
