Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 158,221 tonnes of cargo including 125,226 tonnes of import and 32,995 tonnes of export, 2,422 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The freights comprised of 107,222 tonnes of dry cargo including 84,606 tonnes of general cargo; 2,731 tonnes of wheat, 19,885 tonnes of cement and 50,999 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Eleven ships namely Apl Balboa, Al-Manakh, Uni-Angel, Saigon Express, Taban-1, Zanis Griva, Alexi-1, Flag Investors, SC Guangzhou, Rising Phoenix and Jin Qiang sailed out to sea during the reported period. Thirteen vessels viz Safaga, Asian Queen, Apl Balboa, Taban-1, Uni-Angel, Saigon Express, Hansa Liberty, Oel Mumbai, Sinar Bintan, Jin Qiang, Honest Rays, Despina and Ostria are currently at the berths.
Three ships namely Honest Rays, Oel Mumbai and Hansa Liberty expected to ail on Monday while another two vessels viz Ostria and Sinar Bintan are expected to sail on Tuesday. Four vessels viz Rising OM, Marida Mulberry, Sima Sahba and Luminous Ace due to arrive on Monday while eight ships namely Hblien, Quetta, Chembulk Savannah, Apl Chicago, H&H Tide, Deja Bhum, SG Palcon and Cassandra B are due to arrive on Tuesday.

Two container ships namely MSC Marmara and Bux Lagoon sailed out to sea on Monday morning while another two vessels viz MT Sigas Maud and MT Al-Salam-II are expected to sail on the same day. A total of eight ships namely Harsanadi, Vidden, Produce, Bolan, Sha Belle, Sichem Melbourne, Gas Chios and Maersk Missouri carrying palm oil, cement and chemicals respectively are currently at the outer anchorage.
Eight vessels viz CV MSC Marmara, CV Bux Lagoon, MV Makran, MT Nikos-O, MT Chembulk Singapore, MV Beluga Revolution, Sigas Maud and MT Al-Salam-II are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, sun flower seeds, palm oil, project cargo, chemicals and diesel oil respectively during the report period.
Three ships namely CV Maersk Missouri, CV MSC Bulgaria and MT Gas Chios carrying containers and LPG are expected to take berths at Qasim International Container Terminal and Progas Terminal on Monday. Three vessels viz Glovnni Della Gatta, MT Gaschem Dollart and MV Eastern Tera with seeds, LPG and chemicals are due to arrive on Monday.
