Pakistan Peoples Party, under the leadership of Asif Ali Zardari, has very badly mismanaged the affairs of Government and thus has lowered the image of the country in the eves of the outside world. Take for instance the Mumbai terror attack. In the very beginning of this episode Government denied its involvement and its citizens.
Also denied that Ajmal Kasab is Pakistani national. When India warned of taking some kind of action and other countries put more pressure on our government then they not only confirmed that Ajmal Kasab is Pakistani national but also announced that part of the plan was made in Pakistan and the other part outside our country.
Secondly, in the case of drone air attacks in tribal areas of our country, the government lodged strong protest to America over these unauthorised air attacks but senator Dianne Feinstein, Chairman of Senate Intelligence Committee, disclosed that these air attacks are being carried out from air bases inside Pakistan and that too with the consent of Government of Pakistan.
The former intelligence Chief of America has also confirmed this statement publicity. Thirdly, the other day our President said that military action in Swat and in other tribal areas is the only option through which militancy could be crushed, but our Prime Minister, on the same day, said that military action is not the solution to defeat militancy. There are other options through which peace could be restored in these troubled areas.
From the above conflicting statements by highest functionaries of our Government it is clear that there is no co-ordination, coherence and co-operation at the top of the Government hence contradictions and admissions have become order of the day which is not a good sign of governance. It is suggested that the government should first of all set its house in order. Before making policy statements, it should be examined thoroughly to ensure its authenticity and correctness.
