US copper futures trimmed their morning gains Tuesday after a double-dose of bearish data sapped early strength in the industrial metal and underscored the severity of the global economic downturn. Copper for March delivery was up 1.50 cents at $1.4520 a lb by 10:25 am EST (1525 GMT) on the New York Mercantile Exchange's COMEX division. Morning range from $1.4120 to $1.4610.
