US MIDDAY: cocoa up, coffee eases

US cocoa futures bounced after hitting their lowest levels since early December Tuesday morning, while arabica coffee prices eased slightly, traders said. Arabica coffee for May delivery eased 0.30 cent to $1.1285 per lb by 9:30 am EST (1430 GMT). Early range from $1.1190 to $1.1320.
May volume at 1,518 lots. The rest down from 0.40 cent to 0.80 cent. Benchmark May cocoa up $20 at $2,376 per tonne by 9:36 am. May volume at 3,269 lots. Session range from $2,378 to $2,313, the lowest price level for a second-month position contract since December 10. The rest from down $1 to $24 firmer.
