The long-anticipated engagement of Sweden's Crown Princess Victoria to her boyfriend of seven years will be announced Tuesday, according to media rumours sparked after a visit by the prime minister to the royal residence.
Victoria, 31, and luxury gym owner Daniel Westling, 35, will marry next year and their engagement will be announced following a cabinet meeting attended by Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt and Victoria's father, King Carl XVI Gustaf, scheduled for 1200 GMT Tuesday, a range of Swedish media reported. Reinfeldt was reportedly first informed of the engagement plans on Sunday after he was summoned to the royal residence at Drottningholm, just outside Stockholm.
Swedish media have regularly speculated about the chances that Victoria and her live-in boyfriend would tie the knot ever since their relationship was made public in 2002, but this is the first time the rumours have been so concrete.
