Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has posted Rs 5.314 billion as profit after tax in the half year period ended December 31, 2008 as compared to after tax loss of Rs 9.541 billion in the corresponding period in 2007. The board of directors of the company in its meeting held on Thursday declared the company's earning per share at Rs 1.04 in the period under review against per share loss of Rs 1.87 in the same period, a year back.
According to the financial results, the company's revenue slightly declined to Rs 31.127 billion in this period against Rs 31.768 billion, while the operating cost declined to Rs 23.910 billion against Rs 25.115 billion. The company's profit before tax stood at Rs 8.257 billion in the half year period in 2008 against before tax loss of Rs 14.390 billion in the same period in 2007.
