Traders and business community has vowed to back up Sharif brothers and Pakistan Muslim Laegue-Nawaz (PML-N) and offered all sort of sacrifices in the struggle for restoration of judiciary and Sharif brothers eligibility. Following the call of Pakistan Traders Alliance (PTA), traders observed complete shutter down strike on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
The administration had taken strict security measures to avert any untoward incident as heavy contingents of police - both uniformed and civil dressed - were deployed at almost all the main roads and important points in the city throughout the day. On the other hand, traders reiterated that traders would support PML-N, lawyers and civil society in course of their struggle for independence of judiciary and restoration of judges.
Following the verdict of Supreme Court, traders gave a shutter down strike call to express solidarity with PML-N top leadership and traders in the province side by side of provincial metropolis responded positively and observed complete shutter down strike. Khawaja Muhammad Shafiq that Thursday's successful strike reflected the emotions and sentiments of traders and business community.
President of Chamber of Small Traders, Khalid Mehmood Qureshi said that Thursday's strike has proved the complete confidence over the PML-N leadership. Traders said that these courts are unconstitutional, now Mian Nawaz Shrif and Mian Shahbaz Sharif have only one way to protest that is to join lawyers' movement and restore the constitution.
They said the decision of Supreme Court regarding Mian Nawaz Sharif and Mian Shahbaz Sharif eligibility case was a political decision. Khalid said that the present government liked the Musharraf judges and such decision was expected from them. "US and President Asif Ali Zardari do not want free judiciary and fair decisions", he remarked.
