KUAA starts operations in Islamabad

Karachi University Alumni Association (KUAA), Islamabad Chapter officially launched its operations Friday at a gathering of the old graduates of the University of Karachi now based in Islamabad. Vice Chancellor, University of Karachi, Pirzada Qasim was the chief guest on the occasion, said a press release issued here. Dr Pirzada Qasim while addressing on the occasion emphasised the need for establishing close contact of the Alumni with the university for the development and support.
He also lauded the efforts of the organisers for launching of Alumni Association in Islamabad. Senator Professor Khurshid Ahmad, Justice Haziqul Khairi; Chief Justice Federal Shariat Court, Dr Anwar Hussain Siddiqui; President IIUI and Dr Yasin Khan Durrani, a renowned Ophthalmologist also expressed their views on the occasion. The highlight of the event was the presentation of awards pre-nominated by a selection committee.
The recipients were ex-students of Karachi University with outstanding achievements in their respective fields. The recipients included Dr Anwar Hussain Siddiqui, President IIUI; Justice Haziq-ul-Khairi, Dr Manzoor Ahmad, Ex-Rector Islamic University; Dr Yasin Khan Durrani, a renowned Ophthalmologist and Senator Professor Khurshid Ahmad. The Chief Organiser of the event Mahmud Ahmad Farooqui, Additional Director PR, IIUI in his address elaborated aims and objectives of the association in future.
