Dr Wasim Kausar named new IG of NH&MP

Dr Wasim Kausar has been appointed new Inspector General of National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP). He is the seventh Inspector General of National Highways and Motorway Police. He was also bestowed the outstanding performance award in 2002 by the Prime Minister of Pakistan in view of his outstanding services for the Motorway Police.
He is a Ravian, who was awarded "Role of Honour" in English debating for his record-breaking achievements in 1974-75. He gained his PhD from the University of Exeter, United Kingdom. Prior to this, he did his Masters in Police Studies from the University of Exeter and Masters in English literature from Government College, Lahore.
Dr Wasim has previously held important assignments in Punjab Police as well as NH&MP, and is said to have an excellent track record of professional competence. He has also served as Director, National Police Academy, Commandant, Police College, Sihala; Superintendent of Police, Multan; and Deputy Inspector General, National Highways & Motorway Police.
