Local Lawyers and politicians of Mulatn on Monday condemned the promulgation of an ordinance setting up mobile courts termed it a government's tool to penalise political opponents. The President, High Court Bar Association (HCBA), Multan, Mehmood Ashraf Khan has said that the President, Asif Ali Zardari had imposed mini martial law in the country by introducing mobile summary courts, in which 'Jiyalay' judges would be appointed to punish or victimise the opponents.
He said that there was no permission for the appearance of the counsels. The Central Senior Vice President of PML-N, Makhdoom Javed Hashmi vehemently condemned the establishment of summary courts in the country describing it an abortive attempt to check the long march. Hashmi said the establishment of mobile courts was another setback for the judiciary.
