13 Mar, 2009

Minister for Industries and Production Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo on Thursday expressed the hope that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) can form coalition government in Punjab. "Pakistan Peoples Party has 109 seats while there are 85 members of Pakistan Muslim League (Q) in the provincial assembly. Both the parties can jointly form the government in the Punjab," Manzoor said while talking to media here at the Parliament House.
He said next two or three days are crucial for formation of collation government in the Punjab with PML-Q. However, he said the PPP did not destabilise the Punjab government, it was the verdict of Supreme Court that disqualified Shahbaz Sharif and Nawaz Sharif, he added. He said there are three major parties in Punjab and two of them will form the provincial government. The PPP is striving to form government in Punjab in collaboration with PML-Q. He said the governor rule would soon be lifted, and the Prime Minister has also assured the Parliament in this regard.
