13 Mar, 2009

Attorney General Sardar Latif Khan Khosa on Thursday said that politics of confrontation is no service to the nation and all issues should be decided in the Parliament. Talking to APP, he said that dialogue and reconciliation is solution to all problems and the political issues should be resolved in a spirit of reconciliation.
Khosa said that it was the mission and policy of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto to adopt the way of reconciliation and dialogue and that was why the present government believes in dialogue as the Parliament is in function. The people have given many sacrifices for restoration of democracy and the present democratic system came into being after many hardships and struggle.
To a question about review petition about disqualification of Sharif brothers in the Supreme Court, Attorney General said that solution of all the issues lies in the process of dialogue and its solution can be found. The issue can also be resolved through Parliament if the aggrieved party wants and comes here. To a question about long march, he said that the mindset should have to be changed as the country cannot afford agitation and confrontations in this critical juncture.
Khosa said that the government would not hamper any peaceful protest but nobody would be allowed to take law in his own hands. All the political parties, instead of confrontational politics, should work collectively for resolution of peoples problems, he added.
Khosa said the country was facing a number of challenges including terrorism, poverty, price-hike and law and order and it was responsibilities of all the political parties to address these issues. He further said that the political parties who have been given the mandate by the masses should come up to the expectations of the people.
