16 Mar, 2009

Presidential spokesman Farhatullah Babar said on Sunday that the Parliament is the best forum to resolve constitutional and political issues. Talking to a private TV channel, he said it was the view of President Asif Ali Zardari that the elected parliament is the best forum to resolve constitutional and political issues.
He said that protests on streets, sit-ins and precessions are not the way to resolve the issues. To a question, he said, that 57 judges have been restored, while the government has time and again said that remaining two to three judges can be restored within the limits of Constitution and the Parliament.
To a question, he said, at the time of Murree declaration, President Asif Ali Zardari said on camera that judges will be restored without disturbing the present incumbents.
Farhatullah Babar said that number of judges have been increased through amendments so the deposed judges can be brought back after taking fresh oath. He said if some judges are not ready to take fresh oath under the Constitution, this issue should be discussed in the parliament and not on the streets.
