The NWFP Minister for Sports, Culture and Archives Syed Aqil Shah has constituted a committee to develop and renovate the Gorgatrhi Complex, making it an attractive tourist spot for the visitors. Secretary Sports, Culture and Archive Sahibzada Fazal Amin would be the chairman while MD Tourism Mohammad Azam Khan and Director Archives Saleh Muhammad Khan as its members.
The committee has the task to prepare a comprehensive plan for the restoration of originality of the Gorgatrhi building so as to attract the local, national and international tourists.
The Minister also issued directives to carry out the reinstatement and development work of Mohallah Setian, Peshawar City as early as possible. He said the government would also take the old and historic buildings of Peshawar in its custody to reinstate its originality and include the same in tourist spots.
The Minister disclosed on this occasion that the government would soon announce a big package for the purpose of making Peshawar renowned tourist spots and increase the tourism activities in the region. He added that Modern coaches would also be imported to facilitate the tourist of national and international community coming to this region.
