17 Mar, 2009

Federal Minister for Communications Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan Khalil has said that Pakistan Peoples Party-led government is fulfilling all its promises made to the nation one by one. "The reinstatement of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry is the manifestation of the political insight of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani and by taking this decision the impending political crises has been averted."
The federal minister expressed these views while talking to media persons at his residence. Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan Khalil said that the only hindrance in the way of reinstatement of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was that Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar was already appointed as the Chief Justice and President Asif Ali Zardari had made the promise that no judge will be removed from his post prematurely. Since Abdul Hameed Dogar is going to retire on March 21, 2009 hence, it was decided to reinstate Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and a notification to that effect has also been issued.
The federal minister said that it is time to resolve and not to complicate the issues and urged that nation not to listen to hoaxes and misleading reports. The present government, which is flag bearer of democratic values, freedom of the press and judiciary and spirit of welfare of the masses, will be able to overcome all the problems faced by the country.
He said that it is now the duty of the political leadership including PML-N President Nawaz Sharif and others to make endeavours to put the country on the road to prosperity and strengthen the hands of the government. Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan Khalil said that the nation wants fulfilment of the mission of Shaheede-Jamhooriat Benazir Bhutto and make her dream come true as far reaching changes and improvements are being made in every sector of life.
