The polio eradication campaign in Islamabad which was earlier scheduled to be held from 16th to 18th March, has been postponed and will now be held from 18th to 20th March. In this regard all arrangements have been completed. Dr Saeed Ahmed, Sr. Director Health, Directorate of Health Services, CDA said that Directorate of Health Services launching this campaign with a target for vaccination of 140,000 children under the age of five years.
For house to house polio campaign, Islamabad has been divided into 13 zones, for which 350 teams have been constituted to vaccinate the children. The teams would be led by zonal incharge and for monitoring the whole campaign, a monitoring cell has been established in the directorate.
Furthermore, 96 fixed centres and 48 transit points have been set up and more than 2,000 workers are participating in this campaign. Dr Saeed Ahmad has appealed the parents to get their children vaccinated on top priority to save their children from polio.-PR
