Government invites Nawaz to discuss Governors Rule: Jhagra

Secretary General, Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N), Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, Monday said that after the reinstatement of deposed Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammed Chaudhry, the government has invited the PML-N chief, Mian Nawaz Sharif to discuss Governors Rule.
"Mian Nawaz Sharif has been invited by the government to seek early solution to Governors Rule that was imposed in the province, suspending the PML-N government," said PML-N leader talking to APP here. He said Nawaz Sharif would shortly meet the top leadership of the country to discuss the issue and hoped that the matter would be resolved within two or three sittings.
He described the reinstatement of deposed chief justice Iftikhar Mohammed Chaudhry as historical and revolutionary step that would boost up the politics of reconciliation. "No doubt, this is a revolutionary and historical step. It would revive the reconciliation between the PPP and the PML-N in better national interest," he said.
He paid homage to the efforts of the forces, who strived for the reinstatement of deposed chief justice those include the lawyers, civil society and the Pakistan Muslim League-N under the leadership of Mian Nawaz Sharif. He said under one point-agenda, the PML-N had put forward the demand of the CJs reinstatement and added that the other demands of the N-league, including the withdrawal of Governors Rule and repeal of 17th amendment are yet to be fulfilled.
Jhagra said the government should take steps for repeal of 17th amendment to slash the presidential powers and empower the prime minister. The PML-N leader said the party would continue playing positive and constructive role to strengthen the democratic system. He said the decision to file review appeal on the disqualification of Sharif brothers was not made on the desire of the PML-N but by the government on its own.
