The Pakistan Muslim League-Q NWFP on Monday paid rich tributes to Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani for restoration of the deposed judges including Chief Justice Muhammad Iftikhar Chaudhry and held the decision in the larger interests of the country and the nation.
Talking to newsmen here, the President of PML-Q and former Federal Minister Amir Muqam said, "I salute to Prime Minister for restoration of independent judiciary as the problem had virtually crippled life across the country during the last few days while the common citizens were the major sufferer of the imbroglio."
He also held in high esteem the role of the media for its positive coverage of the whole episode that remained on the nerves of the nation for the last two years. He said it is more laudable that the Federal Government did not make it a matter of ego and thrashed out the complex problems in accordance with the wishes of the nation.
The PML-Q leader expressed the confidence that the government would take such more decisions in the greater interest of the country by putting its political affiliations at its back.
He said that the role of the PML-Q was also extremely positive in the entire struggle of the lawyers and proved wrong notion of some quarters that it(PML-Q) would prefer joining government instead of respecting the peoples trust. The PML-Q leaders have proved that they were not power hungry but takes decisions keeping in view the peoples sentiments and feelings.
