Businessmen welcome Chief Justice reinstatement decision

Former President, FPCCI and sitting Chairman of Multan Dry Port Trust, Tanvir Ahmed Sheikh and the President of Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), Anis Ahmed Sheikh welcomed the decision of restoring deposed Chief Justice, Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry. Describing it a wise act of the government, they said the decision would give a boost to the process of political reconciliation.
In a joint statement issued on Monday they said, We are hopeful that this decision would bring prosperity, stability, peace and tranquillity in the society, which would attract not only local, but also foreign investors.
They hoped that all political forces would join hands to put the country on the track of progress, prosperity, development and tolerance. The President and Prime Minister, while taking the government allies into confidence decided to extract the country out of chaotic conditions, they said.
Further, they expressed the hope that all the parties in the government and opposition would keep personal interests above everything else for the stability of the country, smooth flow of democratic process and for welfare of the people.
Tanvir extended his felicitations to the President, Asif Ali Zardari and the Prime Minister Gilani saying that they truly deserve congratulation for taking such a wise decision that will create a peaceful political environment in the country and ensure true justice to the masses.
He paid rich tributes to the untiring efforts of lawyers and their struggle led by the Supreme Court Bar Association President, Ali Ahmed Kurd and their leader, Aitzaz Ahsan. Though this decision was delayed, yet it is a very appreciable step, the added.
