Zardari and Gilani urged to hold monthly meetings with businessmen

President, Saarc Chamber of Commerce, Tariq Sayeed has urged President Zardari and Prime Minister Gilani to hold monthly meetings with business community to prepare strategy to overcome economic crises. Speaking at a meeting organised by Dawood Ismsail Jhokora, he said that the country is facing serious economic crises, which need proper planning in consultation with business community to overcome these crises.
Appreciating government decision of restoring chief justice, he said that this decision has helped defuse political tension to certain level but still government is paying no attention on economic issues which heading towards no return. The president noted that India providing assistance to its businesses and industrial sector whereas China providing electricity free of charge to its industry.
Pakistan should also provide some assistance to its industrial sector, he added. Tariq Sayeed suggested establishment of Social Development Department to help poor students to complete their education. He advised poor and intelligent students to contact him for getting foreign scholarship.
Bashir Jan Mohammed emphasised the need of unity among all ranks of business community to make joint efforts to bring country out of economic crises. President Indo Pak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IPCCI), S M Munir said that around 5 to 6 thousand export consignment containers loaded with vegetables, fruits, raw hides etc were parked on road due to blockage of roads.
All these items were destroyed during recent tussle between political parties and government over judges issue. Criticising the governments proposal to further increase electricity and gas tariffs, he said that further increase in tariff would push Pak products out of export market and closure of more and more industrial units.
