Supreme Court judges strength becomes 25 after restoration

A total strength of judges of the Supreme Court of Pakistan stood 25 after the restoration of five deposed judges including Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and retirement of outgoing CJ Abdul Hameed Dogar. Currently, the total strength of the SC is 29 (CJP and 28 judges), against the previous strength, which was 17 (CJP and 16 judges).
According to the provisions of the Constitution as the strength was increased through a Bill-2008. According to the list to be effective from March 22, Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry CJP, Justice Javed Iqbal, Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan, Justice Khalil-ur-Rehman Ramday, Justice Faqir Muhammad Khokhar, Justice Mian Shakirullah Jan, Justice M. Javed Buttar, Justice Tassadduque Hussain Jillani, Jusitce Nasirul Mulk, Justice Raja Fayyaz Ahmed, Justice Chaudhry Ejaz Ahmed, Justice Ijaz ul Hassan, Justice Muhammad Qaim Jan Khan, Justice Moosa K. Leghari, Justice Chaudhry Ejaz Yousaf, Justice Muhammad Akhtar Shabbir, Justice Zia Pervez, Justice Mian Hamid Farooq, Justice Syed Sakhi Hussain Bukhari, Justice Syed Zawwar Hussain Jaffery, Justice Sheikh Hakim Ali, Justice Muhammad Farrukh Mahmud, Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed, Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmany and Justice Sardar Muhammad Aslam.
