Rates move both ways in thin business on grain market

Sluggish business was seen on the wholesale grain market on Thursday as many buyers were on the sidelines to see further fall in the rates, dealers said. On the cereals side, wheat old and new both types lost Rs 25 to Rs 2450-2465 in process of slow trading, makai quoted lower at Rs 1275-1288 and Juwar was trading at Rs 1050-1100, other items maintained the overnight levels, they added.
On the rice sector Irri-6 Sindh was down by Rs 50 to Rs 2650 and Irri white (broken) low type was up by Rs 50 to Rs 1250 while the better type lost Rs 325 to Rs 1275, they said. On the seed side cottonseed oilcake with bag Punjab new low quality was lower by Rs 25 to Rs 775 and good type was down by Rs 50 to Rs 800, cottonseed oilcake with bag Sind new good quality gained Rs 15 to Rs 1040 while the low type retained its overnight level at Rs 1000, they said.
