US rice futures closed higher on Wednesday on support from news Iraq bought 120,000 tonnes of US rice and 90,000 tonnes South American rice. May was up 13-1/2 cents per cwt at $12.09 per cwt. Asian rice prices supported despite thin demand. Japan must aim to be rice exporter - expert.
