US MIDDAY: cocoa and coffee up

US cocoa and arabica coffee futures took a breather on Friday following the previous sessions broad-based commodities rally, and technical strength could boost prices higher in spite of overbought market conditions, traders said. Arabica coffee for May delivery up 0.85 cent at $1.1700 per lb, by 9:00 am EDT (1300 GMT).
Session range from $1.1515 to $1.1710 per lb. May volume at 2,485 lots. The rest ranged 0.30 cent to 0.90 cents stronger. Benchmark May cocoa eases $12 at $2,579 per tonne by 9:12 am. May volume at 2,641 lots. Session range from $2,590 to $2,551. The rest of the contracts ranged from $5 to $13 lower.
