Feuding political rivals of Peshawar end enmity

Two influential political families of Peshawar city Monday agreed on exhibiting restrain and non-aggression against each other in future. The rapprochement two political families of Bashir Ahmad Bilour, senior minister in NWFP cabinet and senior ANP leader and Haji Abdul Manan of PPP was made due to the efforts of a traditional jirga between them.
The two families were at loggerheads since the killing of a close relative of Haji Abdul Manan allegedly by the supporters of Bashir Ahmad Bilour. The family of Haji Abdul Manan and Bashir Ahmad Bilour are staunch political rivals and contest elections against each other. In the last general elections of February 18, Haji Mohammad Iqbal, younger brother was a candidate of PPP on PF-3, the stronghold of Bashir Ahmad Bilour. Haji Shaukat Ali, nephew of Haji Abdul Manan, a former provincial minister is Nazim Town-I Peshawar City.
Bashir Ahmed Bilour, a five time winner from PF-3 is the brother of ANP stalwart Haji Ghulam Ahmed Bilour, Federal Minister for Railways and Senator Ilyas Ahmed Bilour, a known national leader of the trading community.
To bringing an end the enmity between both influential families, a jirga comprising of the respected and influential elders was constituted. Both parties agreed to the decision taken by the jira that in future they will not resort to aggressive attitude against each other. Later, both parties solemnised oath on the Holy Quraan regarding end to their enmity.
