A 23-member delegation of the Society of Asian Civilisations (SAC) of Pakistan on Monday participated in Pakistan Day celebrations in Tashkent, during its eight-day cultural study tour to Uzbekistan. Pakistans Ambassador Sajjad Kamran hoisted the Pakistani flag in the ceremony, said a press release.
Later the delegation, led by Professor Dr Ijaz Shafi Gilani, Chairman Gallup Survey of Pakistan participated in a seminar on "Pak-Uzbek Relations through history and culture" at the Tashkent Institute of Oriental Studies, Tashkent held in Urdu, English and Uzbek languages.
Besides Tashkent, the delegation also visited Khiva, Bukhara and Samarkand and participated in Nouroz celebrations of Uzbekistan on 21st March. Besides, Dr Ijaz Shafi Gilani, Dr Muhammad Anwar Hassan, Vice Chancellor Preston University, Peshawar, Pakistans former Ambassador Amir A. Shadani and Farhat Iftikhar Gill, Assistant Professor of National Institute of Pakistan Studies, Quaid-i-Azam presented form Pakistan.
