The future of hundreds of matriculate students preparing to appear in the annual examination is at stake as Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) has failed to dispatch admit cards to them even three days before the annual examination starts.
The board has announced to start annual examination from March 26, 2009, but examination department could not ensure delivery of admit cards to candidates living outside Federal Capital (FC), who get enrolled from FBISE to appear in annual examination 2009, sources told Business Recorder on Monday.
Karachi-based students are calling on the officials concerned in examination department of FBISE on regular basis for getting admit cards to appear in annual examination, sources said, adding that they are not responding properly and misguiding them.
They said that the affected students visit Karachi-based federal government schools and start investigation to locate their examination centres. The most affected students include those who were declared failed in annual examination 2008 and decided to appear in examination again for getting matriculation certificate from FBISE, they said.
They said that board authorities have refused to send admit cards at the students residence by using courier service. They alleged that the board administration is trying to use the money of students, which was received for delivering admit cards through courier, for fulfilling their own requirements.
They said that board administration has decided to send admit cards by using fax services to the students, who are yet to receive admit cards even after completing board formalities. Many students even could not avail fax facility due to absence of fax services in their respective areas, they said.
They said that examination sections of FBISE issues admit cards to the students in the beginning of this month, but many students could not get their examination slips. The board authorities had decided to reissue admit cards to the students who could not get their admit cards on March 18 and 21, 2009 but still many students have yet to get their examination slips, they said.
They said: "Many students instead of consuming their energies for preparation of annual examination start visiting courier service offices to get examination slips before examination. They said: "Many students visit schools run by federal government to locate their examination centres. I could not receive my admit card for appearing in annual examination till date even after completing all board formalities," said Muhammad Sami, who was declared failed in last annual examination."
He said: "I have sent my examination form in November last year, but examination section of FBISE refused to accept and marked objection on it and directed to send this form after completing all formalities before December 31, 2008." He said: "When I approached FBISE examination section they refused to listen to me and said they have not receive any objection form".
He said: "When I approached the head office of courier service used to know the current status of my urgent mail, it was revealed that the form was delivered to FBISE authorities on December 29, 2008." He said: "I discussed my problem with authorities concerned in examination section, and he said we would send admit card after receiving your objection form."
