The Women Development Department is making arrangements to impart apprenticeship training to some 500 women under Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Youth Development Programme. This was stated by Sindh Minister for Women Development Tauqir Fatima Bhutto while reviewing the programme at a meeting here on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion the Minister pointed out that such a training in various fields would prove beneficial for women in better utilising their hidden talents, particularly those who are associated with various units and wants to run their own business.
The programmes project director informed that in the first phase offer letters have been issued to 152 women of Karachi and Thatta while for 111 women of Hyderabad, Badin, Tando Mohammed Khan, Tando Allahyar, Mithi and Dadu would be issued on March 26.
He pointed out that during training period, the women would be paid Rs 5000 per month. Tauqir Fatima said that Shaheed Benazir Bhutto had always advocated the empowerment of women and it was her dream to make women of Pakistan and specially of Sindh province economically stable enough.
