Chairman, Businessman Action Forum (BAF) Muhammad Ali Mian has underscored the needs of lifting governor rule from Punjab immediately for smooth trade and commerce activities in the province. Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), he said that due to the political instability the business activities are at lowest ebb as a result of which the business community was suffering adversely.
Replying to a question, Muhammad Ali Mian disclosed that business community has faced financial loss amounting to Rs 10 billion due to seizing of containers during long march and government should compensate the business community. To another question, Chairman Businessman Forum further stated that business community was confronting with multiple problems due to the electricity load shedding and political unsteadiness in Punjab.
The government should take practical steps for bringing out the country from electricity crisis and to protect the industrial sector from total collapse. If the situation remained the same then country will face serious economic setback, he added. The concept of setting up BAF was to promote business leadership and sustainable business development as well as to provide a platform for further strengthening the mutual co-operation by discussing immediate and future issues pertaining to business and trade, he said.
