US move to cut tariffs on Pakistani textiles hailed

Chairman, Faisalabad Dry Port Trust (FDPT), Sheikh Ashfaq Ahmed, has hailed the US Chamber of Commerce and US-Pakistani Council Report, which made drastic cuts in tariffs on Pakistani textiles. In the report, the US Business groups have welcomed President Obamas initiatives for rooting out extremism in Pakistan and Afghanistan and also straightening trade ties.
Sheikh Ashfaq Ahmed, especially lauded the statement of Myron Brilliant, Vice President, US Chamber for International Affairs, in which he said that US-Pakistan Business Council and US Chamber of Commerce (USCC) are closely working with both US and Pakistan governments to further strengthen our economic ties.
Myron said that Pakistan is a close ally of United States, therefore, US has decided to make drastic cuts in tariffs on Pakistan Textiles products on the pattern of Egypt, Bangladesh, Bahrain, Jordan and Israel products, through which Pakistan Textile products would get easy access to US markets, that would help create job opportunities.
